LEVEL 3 (Intermediate)

650 kr (regular) / 450 kr (student)

Level 3 is for the more experienced dancers. On this level, you will continue to work on your technique and become confident with more advanced aspects of the dance. 

You will learn new, more complex variations and learn how you can style and control the dance. You master connection and tension and can start adding to your personal style by expanding and innovating your footwork.

You want to explore more complex moves and improve on your lead/follow technique. Concepts like connection, frame and musicality are familiar to you, and you want to get better at them! You also know that sometimes “back to basics“ is the best way to advance.

Other concepts that might be explored on intermediate are flow, breaks, follower’s initiative, improvisation and deconstruction of classic variations. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

We try to ensure that the students on our Level 3 will get the most out of the class, as it is the highest level the association offers.

It is required that:

• You social dance regularly (This is highly important!).

• You feel comfortable mixing 8- and 6-count and can lead/follow the difference with smooth transitions.

• You have the basic understanding of frame and tension and can dance to intermediate tempos without losing said frame and tension.  

• You’ve truly gotten the hang of the basic swing out.

• You can dance Charleston comfortably.

To ensure this, we have two ways you can show you’ve met the requirements for the level 3 class:

1.      You have completed three semesters on Level 2 and have approval from both teachers on the level

Or

2.      You are deemed ready for Level 3 by our level placement team (see description below).

Level Placement:

During level placement, you will dance with two teachers and get advised on what level is best suited for you. You will also get the chance to receive personal feedback – like a free mini private lesson! It will approximately take 10-15 minutes per person. Level Placement is obligatory for students who have not taken classes in Aarhus Lindy hoppers and want to sign up for Level 3.

You sign up by sending an email to the board (aarhuslindyhopper@gmail.com) with your name, preferred date and dance role and what you want with the Level Placement. Please sign up no later than two days before the day you want to attend.

Level Placement will be possible: 15th of December and 5th of January
