What is a Flashmob?

Join us for a fun and surprising act - a Flashmob. We will social dance to one song and then perform the Shim Sham routine at Store Torv. NOTE that it will be recorded, and that we recommend you to keep your belongings close to or preferably on you while dancing at this location. All belongings are your own responsibility.

If you have not heard of or attended a flashmob before, fear not. A flashmob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression (Wikipedia).

What to do? We will tell you below:
Show up at Store Torv at 10:00 and ACT NORMAL. Pretend you are just hanging out at the square, talking to a friend or maybe taking a break on a bench. Please avoid gathering in large groups with your dancing friends. Soon you will hear the swing music play from a speaker (but have patience, we aim to play the music around 10:05). Now one couple is dancing, and you can pretend to act surprised, avoid it or act normal, until you join the dance! FUN! At the end of the song, everyone should be dancing and ready to create a large circle for the Shim Sham routine.

After the social dancing for one song we will perform the Shim Sham and disperse again.

You don´t have to bring anything else than a smile for the Flashmob.
