What is a Flashmob?
Join us for a fun and surprising act - a Flashmob. We will social dance to one song and then perform the Shim Sham routine at Store Torv. NOTE that it will be recorded, and that we recommend you to keep your belongings close to or preferably on you while dancing at this location. All belongings are your own responsibility.
If you have not heard of or attended a flashmob before, fear not. A flashmob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform for a brief time, then quickly disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression (Wikipedia).
What to do?
Show up at Store Torv at 11:00 and ACT NORMAL. Pretend you are just hanging out at the square, talking to a friend or maybe taking a break on a bench. Please avoid gathering in large groups with your dancing friends. Soon you will hear the swing music play from a speaker (but have patience, we aim to play the music around 11:05). Now one couple is dancing, and you can pretend to act surprised, avoid it or act normal, until you join the dance! FUN! At the end of the song, everyone should be dancing and ready to create a large circle for the Shim Sham routine.
After the social dancing for one song we will perform the Shim Sham and continue dancing until 12:00.
In case of bad weather, social dance will be moved indoors to Turbinehallen.
You don´t have to bring anything else than a smile for the Flashmob.

Would you like to take a break during the exchange and have a nice little stroll around in our beautiful city? Why Not try "A Chill Cruise around Aarhus" - our brand new tailor made scavenger hunt game! Discover the beautiful city of smiles by having fun.
This game will take you to the most iconic landmarks of the city, and will make you use your observation skills to solve a few riddles to progress in the adventure! If you don't want to rack your brain too much, no worries, it is also possible to skip the riddles, and just enjoy the audio or text descriptions of the various places to which the game will lead your steps!
This game can be played whenever you have a couple of hours to spare during the weekend. If you want to play as a group, and maybe make some acquaintances as you do so, make sure to be there after the flashmob wraps up, at 12:00, in front of the Domkirke church. The organizers will divide the people into small groups, and you'll be able to play together, and chat on the way!
